The Technology Behind Your Test

OakMedCare uses two clinically validated, FDA-cleared devices, chosen to fit different patients, symptoms, and testing needs. Not every patient needs the same testing experience. That's why OakMedCare offers two different at-home sleep testing devices, each backed by its own body of clinical research, so your provider can match the right device to your specific situation.

Device 1: SleepView Monitor

A Full Cardiopulmonary Sleep Study, At Home

The SleepView Monitor is a small, lightweight device used for home sleep testing. It meets the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) requirements for Type III sleep tests. Patients can easily set it up and use it at home by following simple instructions, without needing a healthcare professional to be present.

8 monitored channels

Including heart rate, pulse oximetry, respiratory airflow, respiratory effort, snore, and body position

Sensor Check

It confirms all sensors are properly connected before the recording even begins, reducing the chance of a failed or incomplete study

Smart Check

Review the quality of the completed recording before the device is returned and find potential issues early

Programmable automatic start/stop

so patients don't need to remember to turn the device on or off

Small and lightweight

about the size of a small phone, so it stays comfortable and unobtrusive while you sleep.

Multi-night recording capacity

Via built-in memory, supporting extended testing when a provider recommends it.

How It Works

The SleepView kit includes the monitor, a pulse oximetry sensor, a USB cable, and a quick start guide. Patients simply follow the instructions to attach the sensors, sleep normally, and return the device the next day. If multiple-night testing is prescribed, they can use it for the required number of nights. The results are securely processed through a HIPAA-compliant cloud portal. Automated scoring also helps identify breathing events but a physician reviews the results before making a final decision.

Device 2: SleepImage Ring

Simple, Wire-Free Testing for a Different Kind of Night

The SleepImage Ring is a simple home sleep testing device worn like a ring on one finger. Unlike other devices, it does not require chest belts, nasal tubes, or multiple wired sensors. It’s a good option for patients who want an easy setup and for those who need the specific data this device captures.

Wire-free, single-sensor design

with no nasal cannula, no chest belt, no tangled cables

Worn on the finger

using photoplethysmography (PPG) sensing to track heart rate variability and breathing-related patterns

Automatic activation

the ring begins recording data as soon as it's placed on the finger

Bluetooth connectivity

to a companion smartphone app for data upload

FDA-cleared Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)

for evaluating sleep-disordered breathing, including both obstructive and central sleep apnea

Easy to use

a good choice for patients who find wired sensors uncomfortable or difficult to manage while sleeping.

Why OakMedCare Chose These Devices

We didn’t choose these devices randomly. Both have published clinical research and regulatory clearance, and they are used by sleep doctors, hospitals, and sleep testing centers across the country. We believe that trusted and validated technology helps ensure your provider receives accurate results they can confidently use for your care, not just numbers on a screen.
